Lagonda Series 4

1987. The final chapter for the Lagonda, which had been in production for 11 years with little change. The wedge-shaped styling, so in vogue in the late 1970s, has seriously gone out of style, and it’s difficult for icons to endure. So a dose of curves is needed for those vying for a youthful appeal. And in this regard, the Lagonda Series 4 fares better than a Countach 25th, for example. William Towns went back to the drawing board to finally simplify the lines: no more side creases in the doors, no more pop-up headlights (six headlights are arranged around the grille), integrated bumpers (which house the turn signals) and improved aerodynamics—the formula works rather well. 105 units were produced, a rather respectable result for such an unconventional car.
